Dear Friends and Families of West Queen West and the Bathurst Street community,

I have started this petition to seek support around the recent application to change the Offical Plan and Zoning By-Law for 152-164 Bathurst Street and 621-627 Richmond Street. 

We do not need a 17 storey building on this corner. There are also pending development of the southeast corner of Bathurst and Richmond and the southwest corner of Bathurst and Queen for other condos. 

We already have traffic congestion in our area, the introduction of another 217 residences and 69 cars will not help. Let alone the noise pollution of the construction adjacent to an elementary school.

The beauty of the QWQ neighbourhood is the low-rise developments, the community vibe, the historical buildings along Queen St West.  Please help me stop the 17 storeys from going into a space where we loved Corrado's Barbershop and the Football Factory. Yes, those community places were lost but to replace it with a massive structure with retail occupancy on the main level does not complement the rest of our community. 

As someone who has lived and worked in this neighbourhood for over 20 years, I would like to see these areas cleaned up and revitalized but let's work towards a better solution.
