As a upcoming Senior I will not stand for a political view to be put into sports this upcoming fall/ winter . As we continue to listen to these no good political leaders they still stand on not having sports for high school and lower. I know that many parents are afraid of this COVID-19 will hurt their kids. Let’s keep it simple we the players should have a right to be able to say I will play or not. So I’m reaching out to all fall and winter sport athletes. I know you are In the same boat as me even if your not a Senior. We need to get these people to see that they can’t be making decisions for us so they can just use it for political power. In the end those political leaders have never even played a sport that we put our heart and soul into our craft, grind, and leadership among many other factors. As we continue to fight this pandemic many of us young adults have not seen a high uptake in cases only 2% or less and deaths for us is a rarity. I ask this only because I don’t want to lose my season over someone else’s dumb decision so he can stay in office. Fall Sport Seniors we need to put our voice out to Gov. Wolf. He isn’t caring about the impact that this will have on our seasons or our final year of high school. He’s a political leader for a reason. He needs to stay to politics not sports. The PIAA needs to stop this nonsense and get with the other states because right about now we look so bad it’s not even funny anymore. FIVE games they want to give to football now what in gods name is that to us. We’ve been through many pandemics in the past 100+ years I don’t know why they care so much about closing everything down when back then it wasn’t even a thought to shut down sports. As I said we need to make change for ourselves because Government in Pennsylvania isn’t gonna give us anything. They think this looks good for them since they are shutting down sports and schools for political reasons it’s not even about the safety of anyone. I know all of you senior players in the state of Pennsylvania know you would play anything but nothin for this fall and winter. Let’s get the Governors attention because it’s clear he doesn’t care about SPORTS.
