Free education in the CSU system

As college students in various area's around California (one of the most expensive places to live in the United States), we struggle everyday to pay our bills, put gas in our cars, and sometimes even eat. The student tuition for all of the California State University's has just increased by $270 for the school year of 2017-2018, as if we all don't already struggle with the tuition we have been paying the last couple years. As we examine the amount of money each individual student puts toward there education over a short 4 year period, we see the effect these financial burdens they have on the next 15-30 years of our lives. We are in full force to promote the passing of AB 393, the proposal to freeze current CSU tuition so it cannot be raised, as well as the passing AB 1038, the proposal for a blue ribbon commission to develop a statewide plan for tuition-free CSU. Tuition-free CSU sounds like a very far fetched goal, but with a change like this, more high school graduates will be more likely to attend college and further there education, and the drop out rate for students who are already attending will decrease substantially. We ask that you support us in this petition for change for the sake of our generation as college kids, as well as our futures generation of students so that we can all get an upper division education and create a better society with the knowledge we obtain.
