This petition is to ask Tom Ricketts and the other members of the Chicago Cubs ownership group to address the fans and take questions at the upcoming Cubs Convention, which begins on Jan. 17, 2020.

Many fans of the Chicago Cubs are concerned and frustrated by the team's lack of action during the 2019-20 offseason and by claims that the team has no money with which to sign free agents as well as rumors regarding star players being traded for financial reasons.

In years past, the Cubs Convention has included an ownership panel in which Tom Ricketts has shared his perspective on the state of the franchise and answered the questions of fans. This year, there is no ownership panel scheduled.

Because of the nature of this offseason, the comments made regarding team finances, and other outstanding issues, it would seem an ideal time for Mr. Ricketts and his family members to address Cubs fans, clarify and explain the comments regarding the team's budget and overall direction.

Cubs fans supported this team through the rebuilding process and celebrated the 2016 championship. The failure to speak openly to the fans during this offseason is a slap in the face.
