The Carolina Hurricanes need to sign Michael Ferland to a contract extension!
This past offseason, the Carolina Hurricanes made a blockbuster trade, sending Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin to Calgary. Just over half way through with the NHL season, Michael Ferland, one of three players the Canes got back from the Flames, has had a colossal impact on the team. The 26 year old winger who has already said that he would love to stay in Raleigh has totaled 13 goals and 10 assists through the 37 games he’s played in this season, and he leads Carolina in power play goals. Ferland also brings another very important aspect to the Hurricanes, one that the team has been lacking for some time: physicality. He is a hard hitter who forechecks well, and is not afraid to drop the gloves and stand up for his teammates. Carolina currently has the lowest payroll in the league and it is pretty clear that the team is significantly more competitive with Michael Ferland, which is why WE MUST SIGN HIM TO AN EXTENSION.
