Lowered College Tuition in the United States

Lowered College Tuition in the United States
College tuition has gotten out of control. Due to lowered state funding over the past 50 years, and the US not putting any restrictions on the pricing of tuition, the cost for a college degree increases year ofter year with no signs of stopping.
It's no secret that the average citizen is better off with some form of advanced education. In fact, it's become an expectation for high schoolers now and for all future generations to pursue college after 12th grade. This makes sense given the quality of an occupation a person can obtain in the future is heavily dependent on their schooling. However, when students are going through their decision making process, tuition and pricing have taken control of their lasting choices. Sometimes this even leads to newly high school graduates taking steps away from advanced education all together. This is why a change needs to happen. US citizens should be encouraged to seek after education, not pushed away from it.
This petition is to bring light to this issue. Actions can be made to make a change. Firstly, colleges need to have a reasonable maximum tuition price, so the costs can't keep rising and rising. Secondly, if more state funding is set towards college tuition, it can cover the universities' financial needs, without them needing to raise their tuition.
