Mississippi is the only state with unconstitutional roadblocks still taking place. This effects the lives of many people seeing as Mississippi is one of the poorest states in the nation and that roadblocks target low income areas. This has to change, the people of northeast Mississippi want roadblocks to come to an end. Use our tax dollars for something more efficient than throwing people of color into jail and towing vehicles. This harms the people as a whole more than helping them. This would also help police to more efficiently do their jobs because most people that aren't insured or are under the influence of illicit substances, turn around in the middle of the road at roadblocks and that in itself causes the potential for bystanders to be in harms way. We appreciate our police force and everything they do to keep us safe. But roadblocks are illegal and they have to come to an end. We can't wait any longer and sit silently while our tax dollars are being wasted on roadblocks and not used to better the state or even better, build our economy! Lets build a better Mississippi for us and our children. Give us our constitutional rights back and lets fight as a democracy against the tyranny of roadblocks.
