Dear Sir/Madam Manager of the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex and Honorable Members of Williams Lake City Council:

I am writing to you to petition that you make WiFi free and readily available to the members of the public. Internet access is viable and necessary in our day and age. Many people have to use data, which is very expensive, whereas the cost of WiFi is typically a flat rate of about $80/month which adds up to about $960 for over 15,000 citizens which is about six cents per person. A lot of people are low-income and can't afford internet and a recreation pass. While library and cafes are readily available, most people like to listen to music, read or watch stuff while they work out and typically one needs internet to do that.

The hours should be extended to 10 pm on weekdays and 11 pm on weekends. Weekends are when people have more time for recreation, whereas during the week most people have to work, and some don't get off until late and night is the only time they can work-out.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Schulte

Local Citizen of Williams Lake
