Build a safe, accessible playground in our neighbourhood
This petition had 391 supporters
The problem is that all the playgrounds that we go to in our community at Jane & Finch are for small children, some are broken or being torn apart and not safe, some of them don't have many activities or equipment at all, and none of them are accessible.
Getting a safe, accessible playground in our community will help children with limitations, so they can get more exercise, be more active during the day, play more outside and not be isolated - they can meet more people.
This playground would mean having a better place to play in the area itself, because most communities have a great playground nearby. People in our neighbourhood, including us, wouldn't have to travel so far to get to a good playground.
We could go closer to home and play right after school, and if we don't have homework, we could play, eat, and then if we want to come back out again, we can, but it's not that far.
