We hereby call on the British government:
1. To put pressure on Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, amongst other Gulf countries, to stop
their unilateral and crippling blockage of the State of Qatar.
2. Denounce these criminal regimes for committing gross human rights violations.
3. Stop exporting arms to these despotic regimes who use it to commit war crimes.

On May 24 2017, an air, land and sea blockade was imposed on Qatar by a number of Arab states, namely Saudi
Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt – a campaign to misrepresent Qatar’s policies and views on key issues in the region.
The elaborate blockade includes the cutting off food supply routes, shutting down air space, and blocking all media
outlets. The Saudi/UAE-led block shared a list of demands that violated the sovereignty of State of Qatar and which
seeks to impose guardianship on the state, and include a number of measures that violates basic human rights and
freedom of speech. The imposition of such unilateral actions and unreasonable demands on Qatar are against UN
Charter, and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and human rights laws. The blockade has affected
11387 residents in Qatar and thousands more in neighbouring countries, violating their freedom of movement, right to
education, right to family unification, right to private ownership, freedom of opinion and the right to receive and impart
information. The blockade against Qatar is unjust, criminal and threatens peace in the volatile region.
