With Malaysian borders to be opened up starting 1st April 2022, we urge Sarawak government to follow suit.

Sarawak borders have been closed since March 2020. This border-close policy has caused Sarawakian great pain. Lack of mobility impacted economic activities. Many small businesses as well as big ones cannot sustain and the small businesses especially have to close down one after another. Current inflation and Ukraine crisis make matters worse.

Though the Covid-19 cases are not low currently, experts have advised that closed-door policy does not help keep the cases low. We urge Sarawak government to review the out-dated policy and allow the border to open up the sooner the better. Opening the borders up means allowing fully vaccinated travellers without mandatory quarantine and daily testing.
