As Resident Assistants, our job is difficult and tiring. For many, their cars provide the freedom that they need to keep a level head. Resident Assistants rarely leave campus. Their job, school work, and home is all on campus so the ability to have a car drastically improves their mental health. Having parking paid for is a bonus that RAs need. A parking permit costs $500. RAs are paid almost exclusively through free housing and dining program. The only money we get paid is through the service center hours we work and those are limited. It would take months of service center work to afford parking pass for the year. This one benefit would be greatly appreciated by the Resident Assistant employees and its something that we desperately need help with.
