Do you know children as young as 5 years old are forced into sexual exploitation?

People often think that human slavery does not exist but the truth is everywhere, including Canada, 800,000 people especially women and children are trafficked internationally per year. The richest global corporations don't profit close to the amount human trafficking does, an estimated $12 billion USD per year in 2010, and close to $32 billion USD in 2013.

We need to ask OURSELVES how a horrific crime like exploiting children and women can rake up to billions annually and why it is rapidly growing.

How can we let this injustice happen?

Learn what the signs of human trafficking are, who you can we call if we see victims/buyers/sellers, what is lacking in society and why people turn to exploit and abuse children. Why are there so many buyers? What is currently being done to prosecute offenders of human trafficking or people who engage in exploiting children in our neighbourhoods?

There many questions that need an answer I encourage you to start searching.

Learn about the signs of human trafficking. Please help me get this message out by signing this petition in agreement that YOU promise to be alongside our journey as a global community which recognizes the traumatic impact on victims and survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

And remember, if you see any suspicious activity in your community, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) OR call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) toll-free hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
