Evolve Peer Support Trust started this petition to New Zealand government.

As individuals and a community, we come together with one voice and one purpose, to be the unspoken voice of the 654 people who took their lives last year.

To be the voice of those who have cried out for help.

To be the voice of those who have been turned away or refused help

We are the voice of the downtrodden and the tired.

How many lives have to be lost before they are heard.

How many people have been turned away, made to feel ashamed, and been shown a disabled version of humanity within the framework of a broken system.

Has the essence of who we are as a society being reduced down to boardroom meetings, and conferences, that quantifies a human life by the stroke of a pen.

Let's stop the academic artwork of systems and policies that we have created as a display piece to showcase our progress.

It is time for NZ to move into action.

Humanity is in part measured by the way that we treat each other in times of need.

New Zealand is known as a people of kindness and a nation that shows respect.

We need this reflected in our mental health system.

We need services that offer people's humanity back. Services of inclusion and services that don't separate by seclusion of any kind.

Services that envelop all of the other social determinants that go with well being, and service that honors our humanity.

Services that are community-centered, has a human rights approach, person centered, and recovery-orentated framework.

Services that are not pop up services. That don't open and close at the whim of funding. that lasts maybe a year or two, but ones that are consistent and grow

For the people that are struggling...

We speak for you

We are speaking with you

This is our human rights
