The UK has 7723 miles of coastline and the UK government have signed up a multitude of schemes to reduce plastic in the marine environment. But one of contributions of waste plastic on our coasts comes from cheap plastic buckets, spades and sand forming shapes which can be packaged in plastic netting. Manufacture overseas, sold cheaply and more often than not used once and left on the beaches, these items find their way into the waters around our coastline and breakup and entering the marine environment.

I would like to see a ban on these disposable plastic items and an introduction of a biodegradable beach toys to protect our coastlines and marine environment.
