To allow students who are fasting in the month of Ramadan to opt of PE and for teachers not to expect us to just break our fast as it is compulsory in our religion.

I understand that PE is a requirement as part of our curriculum but I believe that the schools religious tolerance policy should take precedence over this. This rule shows understanding for a religion that makes up a large chunk of the school. One of the core British values that we are taught to follow as a school includes tolerance towards beliefs and this strict rule shows intolerance to the beliefs of hundreds of people at Heartlands.

Some alternatives during PE could include lighter excessive such as yoga and walking, so as to not be strenuous on the body while fasting.
