Temple Tanks towards solving Water Crisis

Temple Tanks towards solving Water Crisis

Temple tanks are large water storage bodies, constructed of course for temple functions as well as for purposes of serving the needs of people who lived in and around temples!
It is nothing but a superb rain water harvesting effort and measure.
In the current situation of acute water crisis, even if the temple tanks were cleaned and maintained to be rain water harvest ready, that's a good measure when at least a few thousands metric liters are saved and can be distributed for residents in and around surrounding areas at least!
If channels to harvest rain water from catchment areas and store it is not done, then no matter whatever Nature provides, it will all go waste flowing into the sea.
NATURE PROVIDES BUT MAN NEEDS TO DO HIS PART TO HARVEST AND UTILIZE AND TAP THESE NATURAL RESOURCES.
I AM HOPEFUL THAT THE GOVERNMENT OR THE HR & CE DEPARTMENT OF THE GOVT. ALONG WITH THE WATER BOARD WILL AT LEAST PREPARE FOR THE NEXT MONSOON SEASON.
LET US DO OUR PART TO JOINTLY PETITION AND INITIATE ACTION FROM THE TN GOVT.
