Chavez Lewis started this petition to Timothy D. Larson

Seniors all over the world that are planning on going to college all have to face overwhelming prices of college tuition in order to attend. These prices are forcing students who don't have the funds to receive federal student loans to pay for school. The total student debt in the U.S. is just over 1.5 trillion, according to Forbes.com. To help fix this problem, students are able to take AP courses in high school to prevent them from paying for that specific college class. But students often face the problem of paying high prices to take the AP exam at the end of the year. According to College Board, these tests cost $94 per subject and the fee-waivers are only a $32 price reduction. This often discourages students to join AP in high school, due to the fact that they must pay a fee to even get credit for the work they've done all year. That is why for my Civics Action Project, I propose that the government should make these AP exams completely free of cost, to encourage students to take these classes throughout high school. This would then lead to students saving on college tuition, therefore lowering the the huge debt amount in America. If you agree with me, I hope that you can sign this petition. My goal is to reach 100 signatures.
