Time to Send a Message to ANZAC-Insulting Erdogan, ScoMo: Expel The Turkish Ambassador

Speaking at a campaign rally in the northwestern province of Canakkale (Gallipoli), Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan suggested – in light of the Christchurch Terror Attack last week – that Australians and New Zealanders who visit Turkey for ANZAC commemorations with anti-Islamic sentiments would be sent back in their coffins like their grandparents during World War I.

Erdogan’s disgraceful, unacceptable comments went something like this: "Your grandparents (referring to ANZACs of 1915) came, some of them returned in coffins. If you come as well like your grandfathers, be sure that you will be gone like your grandfathers,"

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison has already called these comments “reckless and offensive”. He has said that he refuses to accept the excuses offered by the Turkish Ambassador in a meeting on 20th March, 2019. But that is not enough.

Sign this petition to call on Prime Minister Morrison to send a real message to President Erdogan by expelling the Turkish Ambassador.

We CANNOT allow Erdogan to threaten Australians and New Zealanders.

We CANNOT allow Erdogan to dishonour the memory of our ANZACs.

We CANNOT allow Turkey to continue to use our ANZAC history and the Gallipoli Memorial as a threat to gag and control Australia.

Please sign and share the petition if you agree that Erdogan’s comments are unacceptable and the Ambassador of Turkey must be expelled.
