Access to a Fully Accessible Toilet in Vue Cinema

The accessible toilet facilities at Vue Cinema are currently unsuitable for many children and adults with a physical or intellectual disability. What this means is that today in 2017, children and adults are having to risk their own health and safety by being changed on a toilet floor.
This is dangerous, undignified and unhygienic
Many children and adults with physical and or intellectual disabilities need extra facilities to allow them to use the toilets. Standard accessible toilets do not provide changing benches or hoists and most are too small to accommodate more than one person or to even comfortably fit a wheelchair
The Changing Places Ireland campaign aims to introduce fully accessible toilets to public places around Ireland. Without Changing Places toilets, the person with disabilities is either put at risk, as families are forced to risk their own health and safety by changing their family member on a toilet floor or they cannot enjoy everyday activities such as going to the cinema.

We are asking for Vue Cinema to lead by example and provide for the installation of a Changing Places accessible toilet including
● Height-adjustable, adult-sized changing bench
● Ceiling track hoist system
● Height-adjustable wash-hand basin
● Adequate space for disabled person and up to two assistants
● Centrally located toilet with space both sides for assistants
● Privacy screen
● Wide paper roll
● Large waste disposal bin
This facility would allow disabled adults and children, their carers and families to equally access and enjoy the cinema at Vue which is something most of us take for granted.
