Dear Mr. Tim Houston, I work in long term care here in Nova Scotia at the Villa Acadienne in Metaghan and on behalf of all my coworkers I am sending you this signed petition . We are asking for your help , we are all over worked and underpaid. The type of work we do is very hard, and when you add covid 19 into the mix, well I'm sure we don't need to tell you how much that really changed what we do and how hard this has been for all of us. Not only do we not get paid enough for the work we do, now everything is going up in price, such as groceries,  gas , hydro, house insurance, car insurance, and much more, and most of us cannot afford things now with the wages we get. Their are alot of people who will not go into this profession anymore because of the wages being so low, and the hard work we do everyday to insure are elderly are looked after the way they deserve to be looked after. And with the aging population we are going to need all the long term care workers we can get, but,we won't get them if the wages stay where they are now. It takes special people to become longterm care workers,  but they will not want to go into this hard profession that takes a toll on the body and the mind sometimes. I'm sure if are wages were higher there would be more students considering going into this profession, so Mr. Houston all we're asking you to do is please help all of the longterm care workers now and to come by giving us a wage increase.
