Hazzard Pay for Tim Hortons Employees 

During this pandemic Tim Hortons has been deemed essential therefore have remained open.  Although they restrict  and limit not only how customers may interact with staff they also limit the number of staff working. Many were actually laid off. During a shift that would normally have 4 staff, now have 2 working. This means they are working harder doing double the jobs as well as the added work to disinfect and sanitize the food area and themselves. They come into contact with 100s of people a day still and risk contamination. Even in a drive through at the window you are maybe 3 feet or 1 meter away. They go home and have to distance and disinfect just in case. The owners are saving on the payroll, still doing a decent business, and these employees are working harder than ever. 

An employee worked 67 hours during this and only brought a pay of just over $700. Are they lucky to be working and getting something? Absolutely, but they deserve better for being part of what is holding us together.

I am requesting that Tim Hortons step up, as other MANY Canadian businesses have done, and increase their pay during this pandemic.
