Armenian and Azerbejan

We call Greenpeace to act!
In the continuity of the aggression on the Armenians, Azerbaijan is using, as the current data confirms, Phosphorus munitions over Nagorno Karabakh setting fires to the forests which are next to civilian communities of Shushi, Martakert and Askeran.
Many news reports, including those of Azeri sources, show the forests burning with the distinct glow of phosphorus. Armenia’s Human Rights Defender’s urgent investigation results as well as fact-finding activities of Artsakh Human Rights Ombudsman confirmed not only the usage of banned weapons, but also the fact that during days and nights many civilians are hiding in these forests from Azerbaijani military attacks.
These aforementioned munitions have clear effects of mass destruction for environment. Azerbaijan deliberately targets ecosystems and civilian areas of the Republic of Artsakh, in violation of the International Criminal Court’s Rome Statute, article 8(2)(b)(iv) and Protocol III of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.
These phosphorus munitions are weapons which use one of the common allotropes of the chemical element phosphorus. White phosphorus is used in smoke, illumination and incendiary munitions, and is commonly the burning element of tracer ammunition. Its traces can remain in soil for many years, causing further damage to ecosystems affected by the fires.
So, we call Greenpeace to accuse Azerbaijani government and to make them stop destroying human lives and the environment.
