Zev Burton started this petition to Tiktok and

TikTok's content moderation policies have atrocious consequences.

Minority creators are systemically suppressed, silenced, or even taken off the app, all because TikTok's content moderation guidelines allow for such hatred to occur. Even worse, hate speech and illegal content are often left up on the platform, including, but by no means is limited to, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, anti-Semitism, xenophobia, child pornography, threats, and harassment. This is completely and utterly unacceptable.

For over 75 days now, @zevulous has been calling for TikTok to release their full content moderation guidelines. It's time to take action.

The Intercept uncovered just a page of TikTok's content moderation guidelines. In the words of the Intercept, TikTok "instructed moderators to suppress posts created by users deemed too ugly, poor, or disabled for the platform, according to internal documents obtained by The Intercept. These same documents show moderators were also told to censor political speech in TikTok livestreams, punishing those who harmed “national honor” or broadcast streams about “state organs such as police” with bans from the platform."

It is ridiculous that such hate is allowed to prosper on the platform while creators wishing to use the platform for good are silenced or taken off the app entirely.

That is why this petition is calling on TikTok to release the content moderation guidelines. At the very least, it serves to draw attention of both politicians and the media to this issue.

Thank you for signing and sharing.
