Keep the current drug policy at South Point Schools
This petition had 154 supporters
For those of you unaware, the South Point School Board is discussing a change to the current drug policy. The new policy doesn't have a penalty attached to failing the first time.
The current policy:
First offense- 30% suspension of games and drug counseling
Second offense- 60% suspension of games and drug counseling
Third offense- suspension for the year and drug counseling.
The new policy will continue drug testing. However, If a student fails they will not have a penalty attached to the first offense. Only required to attend drug counseling.
We currently have a divided board on this situation. As parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors and community members. We have to stand up against this potential policy change. We have to do everything possible to help these children grow into responsible drug free adults.
Please take the time to sign this petition so the board can see how we all feel about this serious situation.
