Ticketek’s Mariah Carey Australian Tour Reallocation

If you arent all aware, Mariah Carey will be bringing her 1’s Tour to Australia in 2018. Tickets went on sale last year through MJR Presents. The shows were originally planned for February 2018 but were postponed to October 2018 ‘due to a necessary realignment of her international engagements for 2018‘.
Along with the change of dates, came numerous venue changes and a new promoter, Ticketek Australia. With thousands of tickets already sold, fans were told that they could either request a refund or opt for a reallocated ticket at the new venue. Existing ticket holders were told ‘...customers who originally purchased seated tickets we have tried to relocate you to seats that are as close as possible to the seat you originally purchased. As *new venue* has a different seating plan to the original venue your location may have changed slightly. You can see an approximate view of your seat via the venues website once you have received your ticket on the 25th’
The 25th of January arrived and reallocated tickets were sent to patrons. When I saw my ticket i could not believe my eyes. I had been pushed back 10 rows! After reading through numerous I quickly discovered that I was one of the lucky ones. Mariah Carey Australia, one of the worlds biggest Mariah fan communities, had gone into meltdown. Fans and ticket holders had been pushed back sections with some even having their tickets separated!
Ticketek Australia’s facebook page has been flooded with ticket holders demanding an explanation for these unfair reallocations. Ticketek have been deleting these posts, but with enough pressure, we can give the fans the seats they deserve.
Please spread the word and lets make sure this issue gets as much attention as possible.
