The reasons for preventing this are many but here are a few:

·         This land is not included in the Local Development Framework by Thurrock Council

·         The Land is Grade 2 Farmland

·         There is alternative empty housing already available for sale or rent in the Ward

·         There is seriously inadequate Road infrastructure which cannot expand and will not cope

·         There is inadequate School facilities in the area. Existing schools are at capacity and physically cannot expand further.

·         There is inadequate Doctors, hospital facilities in the area. Basildon Hospital for example can barely cope with demand now

·         There is inadequate Sewerage or water supplies in the area to meet the increased demands

·         There is insufficient transport infrastructure to support the increase in population

·         This will destroy Horsnby Lane, which has listed buildings and associations to the days of pilgrimages to Canterbury.

·         This will concrete over archaeological remains

·         Air pollution is already very high in the area, this will push it much higher

·         Local Wildlife will be devastated

·         Local ancient walkways will be destroyed

·         A Previous identical application in 1978 for this land was rejected

·         It is an area of Natural Beauty

·         Roman Coins have been discovered on this land suggesting it is of significant archaeological interest

·         Loss of amenities (footpaths) and destruction to the environment

·         The outlying roads in Chadwell could NOT cope with extra traffic on top of that generated by the new estate being built on the Woodview college site.  At peak times Riverview is jammed with long tail backs;

·         Access and 7.5tonne weight restriction;

·         Five years’ of lorry traffic during construction on inadequate roads;

Elderly people on Mobility scooters and cyclist will be in danger from the increase in the volume of traffic
