The government’s proposal to build such an excessive amount of houses is unsustainable and critically damaging to our environment. Our once green and pleasant land is being covered in concrete at an exponential rate. Additional houses need supporting infrastructure and therefore yet more concrete for power/gas, fresh water/waste water plants, rubbish disposal, additional hospitals, schools, roads etc. With all this additional concrete less water will percolate into the ground and therefore increase the potential for flooding.

This will be the final nail in the coffin for wildlife and nature’s way of absorbing C02.

The developers are the only people that will benefit from this deeply flawed plan.

I find the Three Rivers District Council's plan deeply irresponsible, with the recent publishing of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Report it should be at the forefront of every Governments mind the destruction we are causing to the natural world.
We need to learn to work with the land we have so as to conserve and treasure all our green spaces for future generations.
I urge the Three Rivers Council to reconsider this plan and the unnecessary destruction it will cause.

Please no more building on green belt
Once gone it’s never coming back
We need to have constraints on planning applications that preserve the character of the locality for both existing and future residents

Enough is enough! M25, M25 widening, HS2, misery on the roads, pending Motorway services, loss of green belt wildlife habitat....forever and now this! Haven’t the good people of Rickmansworth and the surrounding area suffered enough degradation of their way of life. The whole area is being trashed.... build your houses somewhere else!

With the impact that the white elephant HS2 is and will have on the local population, selling ever more land to developers so they can build excess homes entirely for the benefit of property investors rather than locals does seem perverse. The local green space area has already had enough of being torn up. For the Local Authority to then make more land available for development than is actually required, just smacks of a money making plan for Council coffers.
