three days 'menstrual leave' every month for working women in India
Despite a growing body of literature and awareness campaigns on the water and sanitation related challenges facing menstruating girls and women in schools, colleges and work places in low- and middle-income countries evidence about adolescent girls’ and women’s menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in the workplace remains limited.
In a country like India the common perception towards periods and the process of menstruation -in the context of college girls and working women - needs a drastic change. It’s high time we must realise the immediacy of a legislation which will help working women handle those days in a more comfortable, secure and safe way.
Spain has shown the way. The country will become the first Western country to offer period leaves under which women would be able to get time off during that time of the month.
I request all of you to sign this petition to request our Honourable PM Narendra Modi Ji to implement this practice of Period Leaves in India as well to make the whole experience of Menstruation better for our working women and students.
