Awareness of the injustice for low income people
Why this petition matters

In New York Public Housing we struggle to be heard, we struggle to be seen by the city of New York. While people enjoy the city, we are dying because of it. We are dying from mold, asbestos, and pollution. We are poor Black, Indigenous, and Asian.
We are the people of New York City who do not get our problems solved, we are the New Yorkers that live with no heat in the winter, with no hot water during snow storms, with walls exposing bricks. Elevators broke down, staircases flooded, elders drinking dirty water in Chelsea Houses. Children getting shot at while they play on the playground. Teenagers having no choice but to choose drugs, violence, and pregnancies as a path because there aren’t enough recreational activities for the youth. Where our young men get arrested rather than diplomas.
This petition is for the city to replant the five hundred trees that had been removed during construction of the only forest in our area. We have a factory that pollutes our air to power the entire downtown community. We get the short end of the stick in NYC. We suffer while others get to enjoy this city. We ask you to sign for the change, to have Con Edison place mature trees in our projects that are effected by the reconstruction
