Why this petition matters

My son and his friends attend an alternative education setting for kids with additional needs in Hockley, Essex, or should I say he did? Essex County Council are trying to bully RAW LEARNING into backing down from fighting for the rights of the kids and families who are being failed time and time again. Raw is an amazing place made up mainly of ex mainstream teaching staff who got fed up of seeing kids with additional needs being failed by both schools and the local authorities, Raw is a voice, a voice the local authorities and local education system don't want to hear. The reason they don't want to hear what Raw has to say is because they know the rights of the kids and how they are, and where they are being failed. Obviously some people don't like this, and because of this they are trying to bully them with the threat of closure. Essex County Council, after promising that they would not close Raw Learning down they have then cowardly gone away and blacklisted Raw, they have contacted all the local mainstream schools that the kids also attend and told them that they can no longer use Raw as an alternative support setting for the kids from their schools, which obviously these schools can't challenge because they are controlled by the local authority, the same local authority that Raw refuses to back down to. Those at Raw know the current curriculum doesn't work for every child, not every child learns the same, something mainstream schools aren't able to support, this is what makes Raw so amazing because what they do works, they work to the individual child's needs not to what local authority tells them they should work to. My son has come so far in such a short time  from being at Raw and now thanks to Essex Council he is scared he may not be able to return, in his words, it shows how much they know when they turn up to a forest school in suits and nice shoes when it's wet and muddy, just about sums it up, this blatant discrimination has to stop, please support Raw Learning and the kids at Raw by sharing and highlighting how Essex are once against failing the kids, the kids they are paid to support and protect and are supposed to care about.
