At the age of 19  Robert " Asafo " Williams was falsely convicted on a  2nd degree murder charge and to date has has been incarcerated a total of  33 years of an imposed  life sentence.  The life sentence was based on a false" robbery" (a felony) however, the robbery never occurred. In fact 2 key  witness have come forth to testify to the events which occurred on 3/7/89. On 12/7/2021 Asafo's petition for an evidentiary hearing was denied by Phila  Judge DiClaudio who stated  the "witnesses recantation lacked merit ".  The denial was rendered without allowing any testimony from the witnesses. In a time of Criminal Justice Reform, especially regarding the false imprisonment of Black Men, how is it possible for the public to overlook a man's life which hangs in the balance based on the ruling of a biased Judge. Scott DiClaudio himself is involved in an open vendetta against Phila. D.A. Larry Krasner for the termination of DiClaudio's then girlfriend Catherine Smith. Therefore  DiClaudio's ruling of Asafo's case and any case associated with the Conviction Integrity Unit which is affiliated with the DA's office, should be considered biased based on the mentioned fact alone.
