We have been overpaying for bad internet service long enough.

The residents of Thompsonville, IL have limited options for residential internet. All of these providers offer no more than 25mbps downloads with 5mpbs uploads yet the package prices remain the same as residential gigabit speed fiber internet companies in the surrounding towns.

The current services underperform their advertised data rates roughly 60-75% of the time and are often completely unusable for the average person today. We must all speak together if we are to change this.

I have worked in all facets of the IT field for over 20 years and on Tuesday, May 10th 2022 I will be attending the city council meeting to seek the authority from the board to speak with these companies on behalf of us all.

Fiber is the most reliable internet source available and we deserve better than what we have now.
