The students of the nursing programs at TRU feel that the faculty need to be taking Covid more seriously, especially with the new omicron variant. We feel there is no reason we can’t be having our lecture classes in an online format like we did last year. 

The health of students is important and we should have our concerns heard. We don’t agree with sitting in a classroom for up to 6 hours, with a classroom of 20 people made up of students spread out across the province. On top of that we have the risk of elementary schools moving to online format which puts extra strain on the students who have children. 

Other university’s in the province of BC have implemented online learning delivery for the time being including UBC and UVIC. We strongly recommend that TRU does the same for the safety of everyone.
