Help us keep the late night food trucks open after midnight

On weekends after dark, food trucks set the scene in the Fishtown area of the city. Bar patrons and locals have plenty of choices of which food truck they wish to eat from as we all line up on Girard Avenue near Frankford Avenue. We usually stay open until 3:00am while we serve the massive crowds of people coming from nearby bars and nightclubs. We love being there as much as the folks loves us being there. The only problem with this is according to the city ordinance, food trucks aren't allowed to vend past midnight. After midnight is when we all get the most business. We invested a lot into owning and operating our food trucks and being unable to sell after midnight is a major problem. The food trucks are the ones who put Girard and Frankford on the map. People look forward to us. With this ordinance in effect, L&I can legally shut us down, confiscate all of our food, impound our trucks, and revoke our food licenses. That to me is completely unfair. Why do we have to close at midnight while McDonald's and 7-11 stays open 24 hours a day and Joe's Steaks is open until 3 or 4am? We are just as much a business as they are, why is it illegal to sell after midnight? Please help make a change and sign this petition so we can get this ordinance changed and we can feed our late night customers again.
P.S. We are not advocating to break the law, we are advocating to hopefully change the law.
