1894 - The Baron Pier de Cubertain on behalf of his position as the secretary general of The Union of French Sports Association, had literally abducted the official title of the international congress, held at the large amphitheater of the Sorbonne in Paris from its original format "Reflections on the propagation of the principles of Amateurism" into : 'Congress on the revival of the Olympic Games'.
On this meeting had been decided officially the establishment of the IOC.(International Olympic Committee ) against the protest of the Greek Delegates. In order to please the Greeks, the compromise solution was that the 1st Olympic games will be in Athens 1896 with a donation of 150,000 Francs. and the nomination of H.E. Demetrious Vikelas the 1st President of IOC (resigned immediately after the Athenian Games due to miscalculation of the budget).
One hundred and twenty years of using the OLYMPIC LEGACY in 30 Olympic Summer Games and in 23 Hosting Cities, mutilating the original legacy from its original ideology.
We say No More!
IOC (International Olympic Committee) - Your ticket has expired!
We would like to claim back the Olympic brand and to bring the Olympic games back home to Greece!
Cracks in the legend of the golden touch of the Olympic host city became no more a secret. The public webs boiling with pictures and comments of the day after, the disaster of mega event and the waste of money. Examples of cities bankruptcy, housing problems transfer & evacuation swept all over the world and questions such as "who needs the Olympic at all" reminded the child in Hans Ch, Anderson immortal fairy tale ".....the King is naked". Meanwhile the "invention" of the Bidding Host City reduced from five to one. only: Hamburg was the first, next - Boston, then Toronto and Budapest. Paris surrendered after an anti-bid public campaign and last probably remained Los Angeles to host in 2028 (ten years is a long journey to go), This list exclude the permanent refusing cities : Rome, Madrid and London ( after 3 hosting fiasco) plus the 23 that already tasted the sting, all together 30 world capitals that wake up from the nightmare ;
Lets claim back the Olympic Brand, and bring the Olympic Games back home to Greece!
