Personally I think Music is a healer and a remedy, MSHS does not allow the use of phones and electronic devices (laptops) during lunch, the rules also forbid for a student to have their phone on their persons (all phones must be handed in before school and picked up after). This causes students to loathe their moments at school resulting in students finding outrageous wrong ways to have fun (fighting, screaming, making fun of other students).

The current rules active also stops students from relieving stress through music and comedy etc. this further influences students to doze off and dream during class just waiting for class to end instead of focusing like needed. Phones and devices or such are also a necessity for planning things like bus rides home transport and activities after school, all planned ahead of time to reduce rushing and stress after school. 

However, I do believe there must be rules in place to make sure students keep in line with their phones, for example, think the phones should definitely not be allowed in classes as that would cause a large distraction for many students, instead i think the use of phones and earphones and headphones should only be allowed during both breaks morning tea and lunch. Further terms can be applied with punishments if broken such as removed student permissions or confiscating electronics after misuse. 

Furthermore, many students develop a distaste for the school they go to (MSHS) due to feeling left out or mistreated. They feel this way due to over approximately 60-70% of other public schools in Brisbane being allowed phones at all times, headphones, speakers and basic electronic devices. Allowing the use of phones with conditions would by far improve the morale of students during school and would soften the stress created by the hard school work completed daily.
