Tamil cannot be made compulsory 2nd language in CBSE schools

As per Tamil Nadu learning act, Tamil is a compulsory language in all schools in Tamil Nadu. Until recently, kids were taking it as third language. This year onwards, it will be a compulsory 2nd language. This is an arbitrary and un-democratic move by the State. Kids need to be able to given the option to choose. As a parent who is not from the State and who may need to be transferred to another State, I find this rule to be dictatorial. Tomorrow, if I move to another state, what language will my child choose as 2nd language? Protect democracy and the right to choose. Choosing Hindi is not anti-national! It is often a matter of convenience. One consistent language needs to be offered across all CBSE schools.
