William "Bill" King was an iconic Head Track and Field coach for Waukegan High School. He was a devoted educator who served the Waukegan community for nearly two decades. He was a great man who was a consistent positive role model for many young men and women in the community, whom he mentored, educated, coached and made champions. He was also a loving husband and father that raised three wonderful children with his wife Pamela. For those who participated in athletics at Waukegan High School during Mr. King's tenure, the track was considered his. In remembrance of Mr. King, I propose we name the track at Weiss Field "King Track" to pay homage to his great accomplishments and always remember who's track that is.
