Theresa May to resign as leader of the Conservative Party

In the June General Election, the Conservative Party did not achieve its aims to secure a majority of seats, resulting in a hung parliament and subsequently a minority government. Theresa May has gambled with this country's future on the eve of Brexit negotiations, a time when we need leadership and the respect of our European neighbours. Instead, her arrogance and failure to prioritise the needs of the electorate over the party  have left us in the most weakened  of positions.

We believe it is right and proper that Theresa May resigns from her position as PM to mitigate against further loss and humiliation on the European stage.
