Roll back unnecessary and non applicable TPD regulations

We in Britain suffer from an epidemic as do many other countries around the globe. This epidemic in short is smoking. Regulatory laws set out by the EU are being set in motion as of the 20th of may in the form of the TPD, this in itself is a misrepresentation of the vaping community as it categorizes products only containing nicotine along with combustible smoking and tobacco products know to contain thousands of carcinogenic elements.
I feel as do many others that the implementation of such regulation on vaping products will stifle not only creativity and progression in the market but also the ability for smokers to switch to what is now a researched and proven to be a safer and more beneficial alternative.
We are looking for a change in the upcoming regulation, which in all fairness we do not have to adhere to as a country, to allow this already thriving community to grow and surpass the need for outdated and very dangerous combustible tobacco, replacing it with a far less costly and all round more acceptable alternative.
Save lives and millions if not billions of pounds and support the vaping community. Refrain from sending what could be an answer underground and therefore demonizing a method that has the acclaim of highly accredited associations in the UK and the world beyond.
