Remove Sir Eric Pickles from role as Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues

Sir Eric Pickles, Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues since 2015 and MP for Brentwood & Ongar since 1992, stated in January 2015 that "at risk child Syrian refugees should be treated with Christian spirit". He drew parallels between them and Jewish refugees of the Second World War and how they were rescued by Kindertransport. Then in April 2016, he voted against allowing 3000 unaccompanied Syrian child refugees entry into Britain.
To compare Jewish and Syrian refugees and then vote against allowing entry to the latter is abhorrent and brings shame to his role as Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues. His behaviour is contradictory and disrespectful to both Jewish victims of the Second World War and Syrian refugees alike.
Sir Eric Pickles should resign from this role out of respect and issue a public apology to Holocaust survivors and their families as well as Syrian refugees for behaving so inconsistently and abhorrently.
