Reduce the voting age to 16 in the UK before the 8th of June general election

Reducing the voting to age to 16 will give the new government, if the vote passes in the house of commons tomorrow, a very strong mandate from a larger demographic across the country.
I know many young people that have a real and gown passion for politics, and many are outraged that they will now not be able to vote until the age of 22 if the Fixed Term Parliament Act of 2011 continues to be in place, and the next general election is in 5 years in the year 2022.
Furthermore, this will make the youth of our generation feel devalued at a national scale and will make them disenchanted with the political system and this may and is likely to effect political participation even more in an ever decreasing electorate. Brexit and the deal with the EU that follow will effect young generations and their livelihoods for a lifetime, therefore it is crucial, and it is right that 16/17 year olds have their say regarding who is at the helm for the forthcoming negotitations.
So we implore the British Parliament to consider this deeply and give our generation a equal voice and allow political equality to be a key feature of our liberal democracy.
