Public bank holiday on day of Harry & Meghan's wedding

Today it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged, to be married at some point next year.
We, the British Public, offer them our congratulations, and hope that we can join in the celebration, in our own unique ways, by having a public holiday called on the day of the wedding.
Many of us will recall the magic of William and Catherine's wedding day, which we were able to join in on from the comfort of our homes. Support for the monarchy remains high, and events like these help this trend to continue.
The government has today stated that they will not call a bank holiday for this momentous occasion. We, the undersigned, respectfully ask that they reconsider this decision promptly.
