I am getting paid less for working harder than people doing the exact same job as me, and trying to support myself the same as them - simply because I am younger I am discriminated against.

It would be morally the right thing to do to put provisions in place for this, the cost of living nowadays in today's capitalised society has increased therefore surely it is a matter of welfare and providing people with enough income is vital so that they can afford to keep themselves adequately is an essential need otherwise poverty and financial hardship will prevail.

Individuals between the ages of 18-25 years old work just as hard, if not harder, than their seniors. The cost of living is the same for this age group as the rest of the population, to assume this age group are still living with parents is outdated and unrealistic. This issue should have been addressed sooner in this day and age, especially with legislation in place that should protect this group such as the Equality Act 2010.

I am singing this petition as I for one feel very strongly on this subject. I am 23, a mother of one, living with my partner in rented accommodation. I am a care assistant in a residential home working with all ages of staff and can not understand how two people doing the same job (if not the younger ones working harder) can be paid so differently? All of us have bills to pay and mouths to feed so how can we put an age cap on what rate we should be paid. If we are working the same hours and the same shifts then why should our wage slips reflect this differently?

I spent some of my most productive times at this age and i worked jolly hard too. So i agree that there is little evidence which supports the notion 18 to 24 year old's are less productive than the rest of our work force. So pay them the national minimum wage now and end this blatant discrimination now.
