Extinction Rebellion ( https://rebellion.earth/ )

Should be proscribed and called a terrorist organisation. The UK has means for peaceful protest that minimises disruption to business and everyday life. Extinction Rebellion do not look to hold peaceful low disruption to normal life protests. They aim to maximise the disruption or even stop normal everyday life.

They are a tool for the state to change the political narrative and focus of the citizens from what the government is failing to do in its national agenda. The police have a history of infiltrating groups and organisations to use them for the political narrative. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2003/aug/23/footballviolence.football

If Extinction Rebellion were actually concerned with the global environment they would be willing to go to countries that have the biggest detrimental damage to the world environment.

Country           Amount of emissions  % of global emissions 2014

 United Kingdom        546.2641                  1.20% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_greenhouse_gas_emissions

Like British steel, the UK needs manufacturers. By stopping the UK from manufacturing, you loose GDP, Jobs, Livelihoods and just have that product made less environmentally friendly in another country and create more environmental damage having it transported to the UK. By weakening the UK they reduce the global voice and global influence that the UK has.

Since terrorism evolved in the 19th century, professed political and religious groups have targeted global locations from Nepal to New York, Paris to Peru and, recently, Manchester, Melbourne, Tehran and London.

Terrorism is a chosen strategy in which the deliberate targeting of innocents as victims is of its essence.

Ideology and motivation will influence the objectives of terrorist operations, especially regarding the innocents affected. Groups with secular ideologies and non-religious goals will often attempt highly selective and discriminate acts of violence to achieve a specific political aim. This often requires them to keep innocents affected at the minimum amount necessary to attain the objective. This is both to avoid a backlash that might severely damage the organization, and also maintain the appearance of a rational group that has legitimate grievances. By limiting their attacks they reduce the risk of undermining external political and economic support. Groups that comprise a "wing" of an insurgency, or are affiliated with aboveground, sometimes legitimate, political organizations often operate under these constraints. The tensions caused by balancing these considerations are often a prime factor in the development of splinter groups and internal factions within these organizations.

In contrast, religiously oriented and millenarian groups typically attempt to affect as many innocent persons as possible. Because of the dramatic frame of reference they use, disruption to life is irrelevant, and the more disruption the better. Disruption among their co-religionists are of little account, because such disruption will reap the benefits of fame and infamy. Likewise, non-believers, whether they are the intended target or collateral damage, deserve disruption to everyday life, and stopping normal life to them may be considered a moral duty. Fear of backlash rarely concerns these groups, as it is often one of their goals to provoke overreaction by the normal population, and hopefully widen the conflict.
