Preserve the Heritage of Bootle Docks

Our website With the huge planed development of the Liverpool Waterfront much of the heritage of the likes of Bootle Docks is in danger of being lost. But thanks to an initiative by a group people associated with The Old Bootleians plans are in place to preserve the Bootle Dock waterfront.
How many times have you passed by on the outside of the Merseyside dock wall knowing that beyond it was forbidden territory? How many times have your parents and grandparents done the same? if our group can secure sufficient funding you will be able to plan your trip on the inside of that wall, stepping on Merseyside’s docklands history.
Thanks to Prospice 21, and the formal agreement of Peel Ports, there is now a firm plan to open that wall to visitors. It will start in 2017, and extend the access in years to come to six selected sites across the whole waterfront.
The development of the six sites will take several years. But the first site will be opened late 2017 early 2018.
We are seeking your support to provide evidence to potential funders such as The Heritage Lottery and others, that our community really cares about our Heritage. We are proud of our community and we want to preserve the history of our town for our young people in generations to come.
