Open churches to shelter the homeless
This petition had 514 supporters
There are more than 25,000 homeless people in England. They have no shelter from the cold and rain and are forced to sleep out in the open. Many of these homeless people are not here due to their own fault, and everyone deserves a warm place to sleep at night. Churches are not used constantly and could be opened at night for homeless people to sleep in, with volunteers checking to keep if the churches are kept in good order. However, these people would be delighted and grateful to have somewhere to stay and would respect the churches, and so there should be no problem in opening them up to shelter people who are forced to live on the streets.
This could impact so many lives for the better, and will not affect anyone else. These people will have somewhere warm to sleep and a much better quality of life. As a 16 year old, I really do see that this could have some potential. All you have to do is sign this petition, please :)
