The Children and Families within North Yorkshire where i live have not got enough Support for Children with Special Needs. I am a parent with 2 children with Special Needs and one of them attends a special needs school, there isnt enough support for us as families or enough for the children to do ie, in the school holidays like groups and out of holiday clubs.
We are having to go out of our area to access things and for some of us this is a problem as they dont drive and there are no buses to the places, i have already raised this with our local MP Rishi Sunak but he didnt really help much at all apart from to write to North Yorkshire Children Services and from that a youth group was created for the younger children as there was one for the ages of 11-25 years. Most of our children are younger ages below 11 years and struggle really hard for things to do for them within our area, i dont see why we should have to go out of our area to be able to access things when all other areas have alot more than us for the kids to do.
I think it is disgraceful as big as North Yorkshire is the care and support that is out there for the children with Special Needs is unacceptable and something needs to change as there are alot of children who would benefit so much from having things to do and be able to give the families abit of a break knowing their children are safe and enjoying themselves.
Please share this link and lets get more people invloved in this and hopefully change things around for these Children and Families.
