Make Mental Health a compulsory lesson in schools

This petition had 574 supporters

This petition is to get Mental Health compulsory taught in schools around the UK. With the severity of the problem rising it's time to make a change, I believe that change needs to start in education. Self-confidence workshops, classes on the importance of looking after your Mental Health, guidance and support information, (where to seek help, how to do it, contact information for emergency crisis centres and online support like the samaritans) for issues probably disregarded by young people that are too afraid to ask for.

If this petition gets enough response I can only hope the government and educational board will make a change and help save thousands of lives by ensuring that all has been done to support and guide young people in the right direction if it's needed before it's too late.

If I was told more about Mental Health at school, I could of handeled my illnesses a lot better knowing there's support everywhere for me. But young people aren't taught this, it sickens me.

Please sign and help make a big change to young people's lives.
